When I had Dish they had Sirius. Then we switched to Cableone and they had XM. I like Sirius much better than XM. Now we have Music Choice and they're ok, but I think Sirius is the best.

This really pisses me off! Us having to pay for radio, which used to be free!! I refuse to pay for any of this stuff. I don't pay for cable TV, either. Instead of being sheep and just going along with being raped by these mega-corporations, we ought to refuse--stand up on our hind legs! The airwaves used to be free. Let the damned advertisers pay for it. (I don't know whether these radio services subject you to advertisements but I'm not about to pay $30 or more a month for TV when at least 30% of it is ads.) Are regular radios even installed in cars anymore? Do they force you to pay for radio when you buy a new car? or do you get a choice? People, don't you realize they're taking away your freedoms one by one? Pretty soon, somebody will be charging us for the air we breathe.

            It's not $30 a month. Try $13.
Its funny. I take a ride in my truck and turn on the FM radio and came to the realization all I was listening to the last 44 years was Aerosmith and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I agree with radio playing the same stuff over and over. Our office has speakers all over the place with a stereo attached. The only use it gets is the occasional CD. I podcast the blues to my computer. The podcasts has very very very little commercials if any, infinite selections to choose from and for right now free.

Lynne, the radio stations on the air are mostly owned by very large corporations, who are feeding you nothing but commercials. If I was driving all over the place I too would have a satellite radio and be willing to pay for it. Most people want 90% music and 10% commercials & DJ banter for hour of air time. It seems Radio on the air that it has about 50/50. The way I see it we are standing up on our hind legs by choosing different medium by going to satelite raido or internet radio.

There's plenty of free radio and it's mostly crap. I can't stand to listen to it anymore. I don't have XM or Serius because I just don't spend that much time in my car and at home we listen to internet radio a lot. Live365 is pretty good.

The problem I have with the open airways is the lack of imagination and creativity. Radio stations are geared to sell ads, and won't take any chances with the music. They stick with proven formats that are designed to draw a certian demographic. So we end up with the same old crap.

I have all but quit listening to FM because of it. I listen to sports talk radio now and it's sad. If the mainstream dominated stations would just take the chance, they might find that there are more of us out there than they think.

Yeah. I sit there with my guitar a few hours a night and just play along. It's greatness.

The other day, they played a tune by an R&B artist named James Hunter that just freakin' blew my mind. Some have claimed on the NorthTexasBlues.org site that this is not really blues. But I'll let you be the judge:

Listen to 'Til Your Fool Comes Home by James Hunter : www.napster.com/player/tracks/17321070

It's soul alright, but those guitar licks are Watson-esque. I find stuff like this on XM all the time. You'd never find this kind of stuff on terrestrial radio.
