Last night, we went to check out Tom Principato live in Charlottesville, at a very small venue called The Outback Lodge. He's an extraordinary blues-rock player who's played with legends such as Danny Gatton. Sadly, there was 14!! people. Come on, people! Cover was $6, and we were in for 3! h of the best guitar-fueled blues you can find around these days. For those of you unfamiliar, he's on the Jimmy Thackery vibe, meaning blistering guitar work, frantic blues-rock tunes and tasty slow and midtempos, this time infused with a New Orleans flavor (his latest, Guitar Gumbo, get it!). As fans, I think we have a responsability to help these wonderful musicians keep their night jobs by attending the shows, getting stuff directly from them and letting them know that what they do doesn't go unnoticed. All in all, we had a blast. I'm right now uploading a small extract of the concert in youtube. Image quality sucks, but you can hear what you're in next time.
