Last night, we went to check out Tom Principato live in Charlottesville, at a very small venue called The Outback Lodge. He's an extraordinary blues-rock player who's played with legends such as Danny Gatton. Sadly, there was 14!! people. Come on, people! Cover was $6, and we were in for 3! h of the best guitar-fueled blues you can find around these days. For those of you unfamiliar, he's on the Jimmy Thackery vibe, meaning blistering guitar work, frantic blues-rock tunes and tasty slow and midtempos, this time infused with a New Orleans flavor (his latest, Guitar Gumbo, get it!). As fans, I think we have a responsability to help these wonderful musicians keep their night jobs by attending the shows, getting stuff directly from them and letting them know that what they do doesn't go unnoticed.
