Thu, July 20, 2006 - 4:34 PMHe's not really blues, in the pure sense, but Fats Domino came out of that original New Orleans crowd. He got pigeon holed in the rock and roll bunch, but he was a blues artist first and was one of the originals. Someone once asked him how he found rock and roll and his reply was something like, "I don't know, we been playin this stuff in New Orleans for 35 years, I didn't know it was rock and roll".
